A Prayer for Listening with Love

Dear Heavenly Father,

No matter where I am,

what time of day,

or what condition I’m in,

You are there to listen.

You do not judge.
You do not blame.
You do not lecture.

You simply love.

And in that love,
I feel heard.

There is power in being heard!

Help me to remember that power when my child needs to talk, melt or vent.
Help me to talk less and listen more…
with love,

And thank you for listening to me…always.

A Prayer for Burden-Free Parenting

Heavenly Father, I praise you for the unique race you’ve set before me and for the little (and not so little) eyes that are watching me run. Free me from any burden that threatens to trip me up and slow me down today – a bad attitude, faulty thinking, judgement, lack of self control, ego, fear…. whatever it may be. Pull me from its grip and help me to run a clean, unencumbered race. May each of my steps glorify You. And may others see in me Your love, Your grace and Your mercy. Thank you, Lord! Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father, there are days when nothing seems to go right and everything seems so difficult. My mind buys into the negative and plays off my weaknesses and insecurities, leaving me defeated. Please help me take these thoughts captive and release them to you. Clear the lies from my mind and replace them with truth, peace, and hope. Thank you for loving me like I KNOW You do and for making me strong and secure in You. Amen.

A Prayer to Help Moms Stand their Ground when Making Rules and Limits

Heavenly Father, why are my kids are so skilled at begging me to bend the rules or lift the limits?
They know how to tug on my heart strings and weaken my will, yet I know that my standing firm is almost always in their best interest. Help to build in me a spirit of power, love and self discipline so that I can remain true to the rules and limits that are set. Help me resist their “puppy dog eyes” with a spirit of power that comes from a heart of love. And as I stand firm in my resolve, may they see in me an example of self-discipline that they may one day embrace and adopt as their own. Thank you, Lord. Amen!

A Prayer for Parents of Squabbling Siblings

Heavenly Father, my heart breaks when my kids fight. Why can’t we all just get along?

Help me to overlook the irritating bickering and instead pour love and encouragement into their hearts. I pray they’ll each feel a sense of security, love and worth so strong, it will naturally be relfected in the way they treat each other.

Heavenly Father, some days it’s just too easy to overlook the good because I’m so caught up in the bad and the ugly. In that darkness, I feel isolated, bitter, and so far from You…exactly where I don’t want to be!  Please help me to see at least a glimmer of positive shining in every moment of every day.

Fix my eyes, my heart, and my mind on:

what is true,

what is right,

what is pure,

what is lovely,

what is admirable.

A Prayer to Remind You You’re Not Alone

Heavenly Father, sometimes parenting can feel so overwhelming… and lonely. And, while I try my hardest to be the best mom I can be, I fall short more times than I’d like to admit.

I don’t have all the answers. Even though I wish I did.

And I can’t do this alone. Even though I often try.

Help me to remember that you are with me always to pave the way, support and guide me. Thank you for going before me in every temper tantrum, tummy ache, and battle of the wills. In you, I’m never alone. And in you I’m able to be the best mom I can be.

I’m so very thankful to have you on my team!  Amen

A Prayer When You Need Strength and Reassurance

Heavenly Father, thank you for today! Help me to approach this day with confidence, knowing that whatever obstacles I face, I CAN overcome them through you.  Help me to turn monsters into mole hills. And help me to rely on your endless strength and power, particularly when mine seems to fizzle out. Alone I feel weak, but in your power, I truly am Super Mom! Thank you! Amen.
